Twauna Marie Stuart, 57 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Twauna was born July 12, 1962 in Arlington, TX. Although a Texas native, she found her home in Tennessee in 1996. Twauna was known by many for her years at Belk department store as well as, the many years she served as a Judicial Commissioner for Putnam County.

Twauna will be remembered for her lively persona, her heart for people, and a smile that could light up the room. She was active in various community causes. One of Twauna’s favorite accomplishments was her book of short stories for children about guardian angels, “Angels of Hope” under the pen name Gabi Baker.

Twauna is survived by her mother Lee Baker-Stuart of Texas, wife Martha Kay Stuart of Cookeville, sister Tonya Stuart of Texas, sister Twyla and Dewayne Montgomery of Cookeville, son Zachary and Daisy Bratton of Texas, son Lance and Hana Bratton of Texas, daughter Jena and Daniel Wright of South Carolina, daughter Amy and Buddy Pearson of Cookeville, and a multitude of grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Joebob Stuart and her brother TJ Putnam.

A celebration of life for Twauna will take place at a later date for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please share in her passion to help women in need by donating to the Genesis House located in Cookeville, or to the Cookeville Rescue Mission where Twauna loved to help raise money by bell ringing in costume at Christmas.
