Ted Franklin Prater, 74 of Sparta, Tennessee passed from this life Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Ted was born Wednesday, February 21, 1945, in Sparta, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Laurine (Clouse), Prater.

Ted was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He worked at Cummins Filtration for 40 years. He loved Fishing and had lots of friends.

He is survived by his wife Lois Prater of Sparta, TN

1 Daughter:
Tina Elrod of Pleasant Hill, TN

1 Son:
Hank and Becky Golden of Sparta, TN

2 Granddaughters:
Crystal and Ryan Grasty
Katelin Golden

4 Great Granddaughters:
Kalie and Jada Turner, MaLeah and Lakelyn Grasty

A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Sandy Knowles, Regina Underwood, and 1 Brother: Kenneth "Butch" Prater.

Funeral services for Ted will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019, beginning at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Minister James Rittenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 25, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Ted was first class. He was one you could count on. Solid personality and work ethic. He will have my prayers as will his family. Ted will be missed by all that knew him.
I found these two photos of Ted that his Supervisor Udo Holtzhausen took and gave to me. It's the only ones I could find in my files. I hope the family gets them to keep.
