Richard Dudney Maynard, 86 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born March 1, 1934 in Boma, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Virgle and Jeanette Jernigan Maynard.

Richard is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Frances Maynard; children: Connie Maynard and spouse Bobby Dickens, Sandy & Jeff Litton, Ricky Maynard, Keith & Darla Maynard, and Scott Maynard; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Mae Simmons.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his three brothers, Bud, JV, and Carson Maynard, two sisters, Helen Hunter and Faye Lowe; a daughter-in-law, Jama Maynard; granddaughter, Ashley Maynard; and a great granddaughter, Tyler Chanel Sturgill.

The family is honoring Richard’s wishes of cremation and a celebration of his life will be held, Saturday, August 8th from 2-4 at Cane Creek Baptist Church.
