Raymond "Duck" Thomas Batty, Jr., 60 of Mount Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at his home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

Duck was born Sunday, January 25, 1959 in Murphysboro, Illinois. He was the son of Raymond Thomas Batty, Sr. and the late Alice (Hanson) Batty.

Duck was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Coach Duck gave back to his community through many forms of coaching, volunteering, mentoring, and sponsoring of youth. He was known to light up the room with his humor, his stories, and his presence in general. Duck's most famous quote was " Now remember, I am probably about the smartest man you will ever meet in your life.... and best looking."

Duck is survived by his wife, June Batty; 3 children, Chris and Rachel Batty, Zack and Angela Batty, and Hunter and Leslie Batty; 2 Grandchildren, Benjamin Batty and Apollo Batty; Father, Raymond Thomas Batty, Sr.; 4 Siblings, Cheryl Ryan and Steve, Tina and Denny Parrott, Greg and Anne Batty, and Susie and Larry Batty-Gunn; A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Duck was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, William and Lucy Batty; Maternal Grandparents, Argel and Beulah Hanson, and Nephew, Scott Ryan.

Duck chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
