John Douglas Cartwright, 62 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee.

He was born Wednesday, October 30, 1957, in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Frank Cartwright and the late Rubie Peake Jarnigan.

He was a loving Father, Grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, sitting on his porch and watching the fire pit, and would help people in any way he could.

Mr. Cartwright is survived by:

Wife: Gloria Jean Cartwright of Cookeville, TN

James Jarnigan

4 Sons and 2 Daughters-in-law:
John D. Cartwright Junior and wife Crystal of Cookeville, TN
Ricardo Cartwright and wife Amanda of Cookeville, TN
Joshua Frank Cartwright of Cookeville, TN
Jeremy Davis of Cookeville, TN

1 Daughter:
Victoria Guess of Cookeville, TN

9 Grandchildren:
Cyan, Hailey, Braylin, Kiya, and Lee Cartwright, Dylan and Devon Payant, and Chase Roberts.

2 Brothers:
Charles Wayne Cartwright
Earl Ray Cartwright

3 Aunts:
Mary Alice McClellan of Cookeville, TN
Margaret Hurt of Cookeville, TN
Yvonne Gardner of Cookeville, TN

Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cartwright was preceded in death by, 1 Brother: William Floyd Cartwright, 1 Grandson: Dillon Roberts.

Memorial services for Mr. Cartwright will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019, beginning at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with John Steven "Bo" Mullins, Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.

Doug was a wonderful man. I grew up with his kids and have always thought a lot of him. Even as an adult, he would always give me a big hug and ask about my family...and he's always ask my mom about me if he saw her. Doug will be greatly missed by many people.
