Obituary

Jean Maxwell, 89 of Baxter, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at her Residence.

Born Monday, February 16, 1931, in Cookeville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Bertie Slagle.

Jean was the former Co-Owner of the Thunder Bird Restaurant. She was married to the late Liillard Maxwell for 56 years before his passing. She was a member of Lilly's Chapel Baptist Church.

Jean is survived by:

One son Danny "Sherry" Maxwell

Grandchildren Kristina "Chris" Stockton, Daniell "Cory" Carter, Crystal Maxwell

Great Grandchildren: Trent and Caroline Christian and Roslynn and William Carter

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Lillard Maxwell, daughters Carolyn Christian, and Baby Maxwell. Jean is also preceded by her Grandsons Matthew and Nicholas Christian, brother Ernest Slagle and sister Anna Lee Brewington

Funeral service will be at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Gary Norton officiating. Interment will follow in Samuel Maxwell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home,

My deepest sympathy to all of Jean's family. She served as an inspiration to many by living her life as a strong Christian woman. She will be greatly missed. She leaves a legacy that will be treasured. Memories of her cooking and baking wiil continue to bring joy to family and friends.
