Obituary

James Arvil Derossitt, age 77 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Monday, July 13, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born Friday, August 21, 1942 in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Beecher and Lou Vada (Sullivan) Derossitt.

James was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend to everyone that knew him. He was a U.S. Veteran, owned and operated Broadway Upholstery Shop since 1968. He loved music, and was a founding member of the Tennessee Outlaw Band which played at the Veterans Building in Cookeville every Friday night for over 35 years. He loved his Christmas Lights Display that he put out every year. He loved working in his yard with his flowers. James was a man of many talents.

James is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Hazel (Bow) Derossitt of Cookeville, TN

1 daughter and son-in-law:
Jill and Derek Puckett of Cookeville, TN

1 son and daughter-in-law:
Matt and Sherry Derossitt of Cookeville, TN

2 Grandchildren:
Ashley and Logan Hargis of Cookeville, TN

1 sister and brother-in-law:
Sabra and Fletcher Barlow of Smyrna, TN

2 brothers and sisters-in-law:
Garry and Diane Derossitt of Cookeville, TN
Kenneth and Versie Derossitt of Cookeville, TN

2 sisters-in-law:
Ann Stallion of Cookeville, TN
Wanda Sue Jones and husband Dale Jones

A host of Nieces and Nephews

In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Earl and Alice Derossitt, and 1 brother-in-law: James Stallion.

Graveside services for James will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020 beginning at 3:00 pm at Brown's Mill Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. Interment will follow.
