Helen Catherine Bryson Furcean, 80 of Cookeville, Tennessee, formerly of Westland, Michigan passed away peacefully Monday, Feb 17, 2020, at her home in Cookeville.

She was born on May 26, 1939, in Detroit Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Watts) Bryson and was preceded in death by brothers Edward and Henry and sister Kay Rathburn.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. When she retired she enjoyed spending time at the Cumberland Arts Society, creating art and teaching her techniques.
Helen was passionate about art since childhood. Creating many paintings, drawings, greeting cards, and craft items. Her love for her family was evident in her paintings and drawings.
Helen worked most of her life in the Newspaper business as a production manager and editor, Starting at the Wayne Eagle newspaper and working at the Livonia Observer & Eccentric newspaper most of her career.
At age 60, Helen decided to get her Bachelor's degree and further her education.
Helen was smart, witty and a proficient storyteller.
Helen will be missed by all that knew her but will be in our hearts forever.
Helen is survived by two Sons and Daughter, George and wife Elena, John and wife Monette and Julie Fisher and her husband Bob. She is also survived by four Grandchildren, Sandi and Kevin Valenti, Geoffrey and April Furcean, Matthew and Hayley Furcean and Clinton Furcean and five Great Grandchildren, Sofia, Joey, Emily, Alex and Benjamin.
Helen chose cremation, the family followed her wishes, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
