Obituary

Ellen Marie Leonard, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She was born May 30, 1953 in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Ms. Ellen worked several occupations, but was ultimately happy when she was doing what she loved- cooking old-fashioned comfort food. She was saved in the name of Jesus Christ.

Ms. Ellen was a lifelong resident of Cookeville and graduated Putnam County Senior High School.

She is survived by her father, Aaron Tayse; daughter, Tammy Powell (Chris) of Knoxville; son, Kenneth Wayne Jones of Cookeville; grandchildren - Cody Sullivan, Nicole Jones, Jared Bilbrey, Robbie Jones, Mylee & Addi Powell, and great-grandson, Kayden Sullivan, sister, Barbara (Darel) Cherry, and brother, Arvil (Elsie) Tayse, and 4 nephews - Timothy, Derek, Kevin, and Garrett, and her little dog, Bo.

Ms. Ellen was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Jewel Farley (Jackson).

Her family chose cremation and her remains will be laid to rest with her mother, Mildred and stepfather, Donald Ray at Cookeville City Cemetery.
