Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Smith (Peer)

It is with very sad and heavy hearts that we announce that at approximately 3 a.m. on July 1 our beautiful mom was called home to Heaven to be with the Lord. While we are heartbroken and missing her terribly already, we're so thankful that she is no longer in pain and is finally at peace.
Elizabeth, Liz, Betty, Mom, Nana, Ma. Those are just some of the names Mom was known by. But no matter what name you knew her by, we all knew the same amazing person - funny, loyal, protective, strong, caring, tenacious, selfless. Those are just a few of the traits that we all saw in Mom. After suffering her stroke in 2017, her condition restricted her from many of the things she loved, but she never stopped worrying about others before herself, especially when it came to her kids and grandkids. And there are many of you out there that Mom considered her kids, not just those she gave birth to. We loved that about Mom!
We are hoping to do a memorial service using Facebook Live since Facebook was how she kept in touch with so many of her friends and family. We'll share all the details on that as soon as possible. In the meantime, we hope you will join us today in honoring Elizabeth, Liz, Betty, Mom, Nana, Ma by taking some time today to tell the people in your life who you care about most how much you love and appreciate them. Make one another laugh with a goofy joke or old memory. Enjoy a meal with one another, especially if you can get to a White Castle.
To all who knew our mom, thank you all for being important people in Mom's life. She loved you all.
- Michael (son), Sean (son), Kelly (daughter in-law), Cavan (grandson) and Aidan (grandson)
