Obituary

Douglas "Doug" Rice Ramsey, 78 of Baxter, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Doug was born Friday, February 20, 1942, in Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, and he was the son of the late John Ramsey and the late Mary Alice (Bryant) Whitehead.

Doug was a loving son, brother, dad, and Pa Doug. He was one of a kind, was loved by everyone that knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Doug is survived by, 3 Children, Gina and Randall Mayberry, George and Cassandra Ramsey, and Kimberly and Ron Reading; 9 Grandchildren, Keith, Kasey, Brian, Tristan, Colby, Stephanie, Tiffanie, Paige, and Bentley; 12 Great-Grandchildren; Special Nephews and Niece, John and Ashley Ramsey, Justin and Amanda Ramsey, and Natasha and Shane Judkins; Sister-In-Law, Susie Dyer; and Great-Niece and Nephew, Alexis and Elijah.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by, Wife, Irene Ramsey; 3 Brothers, Buford, Eudell, and Bobby Ramsey.

Graveside Service for Douglas Rice Ramsey will be held Friday, September 11, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Gentry Community Cemetery with Bro. Fabron Nicholson officiating.

I was lucky to have had Doug as a Neighbor & Friend for 15yrs. His big smile, big wave he'd make sure you seen he cared. Most of all his laugh.. Watching me through the years Doug knew I was always good for a laugh. He would tease me all the time, he'd say Girl what you gonna get into today & just give me a big gut laugh. Im so use to listening to your news reports in the morning & westerns through the day. Miss looking up seeing you sitting on porch. I will truly miss you... My sincerest condolences to your Family....
