Dorothy Mae Bilyeu Flatt, 79 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born Thursday, July 25, 1940 in Cookeville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Benny Harmon and Minnie (Thompson) Bilyeu.

Mrs. Flatt was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ. She worked at Marble Laundry, CM Clothing, and Identity Group (Porlon) for many years. She faithfully cared for her aging parents and was always willing to help others in need.

Mrs. Flatt is survived by her son Marty Flatt and wife Katherine, special niece and friend Penny Bilyeu, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family has chosen cremation as per wishes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Bobbie Marie Mitchell and an infant sister, 4 brothers: Harold, Claude, Bennie Jr., and A.L. Bilyeu, niece: Julie Nash and 3 nephews: Michael, Teddy, and Dean Bilyeu.

I loved aunt Dorothy so much! I haven't gotten to see her in a long time. i also wanted to tell Marty i love him and im so sorry. i love you all and I'm praying for you!

I have been trying to find aunt Dorthy for years!! I pray she was with you Marty!! her son she loved so much!! god bless you all

Thank you Rose and Clarissa, it's been very difficult for me last few days coming to terms with it. I know that she is at peace now and in a better place.
