Tuesday morning, May 7, 2019, on a beautiful spring day in Cookeville, Tennessee Rev. Dennis Mitchell Vader went to his eternal home in Heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife, Natalie Kay and counting those married into the family, 8 children, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Called by God into His ministry 36 years ago, he loved to preach the gospel and continued at every opportunity after retiring in 2011. By God’s grace, he and his wife ministered in 4 churches in Michigan, 2 in Kentucky, and merged 2 churches into 1 in Arizona, deep in the Sonoran Desert where he spearheaded and was principal of a Christian School, a lifelong dream. He was a guest preacher in Michigan, Florida, and Nicaragua on Mission trips and preached revivals in several states.
Mitch was a very proud Veteran who volunteered into the Army and served in Vietnam. He had a rich sense of humor and was very outgoing. As an enthusiastic golfer, he made many friends on the golf course.
In the last 2 months, he was lovingly cared for at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Curtis Sipe, and Caris Hospice.
Informal Memorial Celebrations are planned at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
