This picture of Cordell is exactly as I remember him when in the 1980s he and I sat together at the Cookeville Mall as we fingerprinted children. He brought all the materials and made this activity official; I was there as a member of Cookeville Junior Woman's Club, the organization that sponsored the event. I looked forward to and enjoyed every time we did this. Cordell always smiled, laughed, and greeted everyone with kind words. My sympathy to all who loved him. He was an excellent policeman and such a gentleman.

Cordel was alway such a happy man! He was so tall that his height could make him seem foreboding; yet the twinkle in his eyes gave him away every time! He was a joy to everyone he met! And he made everyone he met feel special! That’s a gift from God and he was given that gift! He used it wisely and blessed so many we were blessed to have Cordel Elrond in our lives!

Cordell worked part time for me at Cookeville Uniform Rental in the early eighties. He was always The perfect gentleman. Always soft spoken, but you knew he could be as strong as he needed to be. I always enjoyed running into him around town over the years. He was a mother cycle policeman at the time. He worn those double layered pants in the hottest part of the summer. One quote from him. “ They are two types of motor cycle riders, Those who have been down and those that are going down. “. RIP Cordell Elrod, my highest respect to you!

Cordell was my cousin, and my friend. Though our paths took us apart for many years, I am very happy to say we had caught up with each other again over the past few years and I will miss him dearly! I always saw so much of his Momma in him. He made me laugh and he was there with a hug when you needed one. He was a good man and he will walk with the Lord. Love you.
